Attendees will join us in honoring our second annual Friend For Life, an outstanding individual whose efforts have deeply impacted the childhood cancer community. We're thrilled to announce our 2018 Friend For Life is Eliane Markoff, in recognition of her innovative work funding important childhood cancer research.
Eliane is a gifted artist, and has had her paintings featured in magazines and newspapers, including The American Art Collection, as well as exhibited in the Salon du Louvre in Paris, France. Eliane founded Art in Giving as a way to combine her passion for supporting children affected by cancer with her artistic abilities. Art in Giving raises funds for childhood cancer research through the sale of fine arts, with 50% of each sale benefiting pediatric cancer research, and 50% benefiting the artist. To date, Art in Giving has granted $1.4 million in seed funding to talented researchers across the nation working on breakthrough ideas to identify causes of and cures for brain tumors and gliomas.
Tumors of the brain and spine are the most common solid tumor in children, and affect many of our campers. Eliane's work through Art in Giving funds research critical to improving the diagnosis and treatment of brain tumors in children, and will help make important strides in the field of pediatric oncology. We hope you will join us on November 8th to honor Ms. Markoff's outstanding contributions to our community!
