Day Camp Co-Director


Our Camp Planning Committee is seeking an individual interested in helping plan, organize, and execute our first-ever week-long day camp for childhood cancer patients and survivors in June 2018. You will be responsible for working directly with the Camp Operator to plan camp logistics, recruit and train volunteers, and enroll campers. You will directly oversee the rest of the Day Camp Leadership Team throughout planning and execution, in partnership with the Camp Operator. You will get the unique opportunity to help create and lead a brand-new day camp for childhood cancer patients and survivors.


The successful candidate must possess the following core skills:

  • Experience providing childcare

  • Strong communication skills

  • Organization

  • Effective and supportive management style

  • Creativity and resourcefulness

  • Problem-solving

Other preferred, but not required, skills:

  • Experience working with special-needs populations


Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, pass a background check, and have at least two seasons of previous experience at a recreational camp for children. Applicants must be able to commit to help with this role through the execution of the camp week in June 2018. Most volunteer work can be done remotely throughout the year, but applicants must be able to commit to attending every day of the week-long day camp in late June 2018 (7 day in-person commitment).
