SCOPE OF JOB DUTIES
Our Camp Planning Committee is seeking an individual interested in helping plan, organize, and execute the programming for our annual week-long day camp for childhood cancer patients and survivors in Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts in August 2019.
You will be responsible for working with a team of volunteers who help plan logistics, train and welcome camp volunteers, and enroll campers. You will help organize our camp "theme" and theme days, come up with fun activities, organize our daily schedule, and guide and support our volunteer activities counselors during the week of camp itself. Best of all, you will get the unique opportunity to help create and run a life-changing week of camp for childhood cancer patients and survivors.
The successful candidate must possess the following core skills:
Experienced childcare provider
Responsible and communicative
Effective and supportive management style
Creativity and resourcefulness
Other preferred, but not required, skills:
Experience working with special-needs populations
Experience creating and executing programming in a childcare setting.
REQUIREMENTS & COMMITMENT
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, and pass a background check. Applicants must be able to commit to help with this role through the execution of the camp week in August 2019. Most volunteer work can be done remotely throughout the year, but applicants must be able to commit to the entire week-long day camp in August (Sunday August 18 through Saturday August 24).
