Social Media Assistant


Our Marketing Committee is seeking an individual interested in volunteering to create written content to be used in social media posts, blogs, newsletters, and more. You will be responsible for contributing content geared towards either our current and prospective families, or our current and prospective donors. You need to have the ability to come up with original, relevant and timely topics in relation to our organization's mission and goals. You should also be able to work well remotely, both independently and as a team member.

You will report directly to our Marketing Manager, and will be supported by our Director of Marketing, Marketing Manager, and Graphic Designers. You'll be expected to meet virtually one to two times per month with daily communication via email and Asana. Hours are very flexible, entirely virtual (no in-person commitment), and a minimum of 4 hours per week is preferred for this position.


The successful candidate must possess the following core skills:

  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills

  • Previous content writing

  • Ability to know the audience‚Äôs needs, wants and problems and ability to address them successfully

  • Outgoing and creative

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Practices superior time management skills

  • Strong written communication

Specialized skills:

  • Previous experience with camps, cancer, fundraising, and/or nonprofit marketing is preferred.
