Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children affected by cancer? We are looking for dedicated volunteer leaders to join our mission of providing free, fun, and supportive camp experiences to these amazing kids.

About This Role
We are seeking a Camp Co-Director to help us plan and execute an amazing week of camp at Day Camp 2026.
As a member of our camp leadership team, you will get the unique opportunity to help create and lead a much-needed camp experience that helps patients, survivors, and siblings of childhood cancer receive the personalized support they deserve.

Day Camp is a one-of-a-kind program designed to address the unique challenges that childhood cancer patients, survivors, and siblings face.
All of our camps are offered free-of-cost to our families to help combat the long-term challenges of childhood cancer.
Our 2026 program will take place in Wellesley, MA, June 28 - July 3.

Prior to your camp session, you will be responsible for working with our Program Director to plan camp logistics, select and train camp volunteers, and oversee all activities.
You will lead the rest of the Day Camp Leadership Team throughout planning and execution, helping our team meet internal deadlines and stay on track throughout the year.
Throughout the in-person camp session, you’ll provide your fellow leadership and camp counselors with the support they need to thrive in the camp setting.
Most importantly, you will get the unique opportunity to help give kids affected by cancer an incredible week of camp: feeling understood, having fun, and building friendships to last a lifetime.

Applicants should be at least 21 years of age, be able to pass a background check, and be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
Strong candidates will possess the following qualifications and skills:
Experience providing childcare
Demonstrated professional experience working with children with behavioral challenges
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Highly organized
Effective and supportive management style
Creativity and resourcefulness
Problem-solving skills

Most of the preparation and planning can be done remotely and around your own schedule.
Applicants must be able to commit to attending every day of the in-person camp session in Wellesley, MA (June 28 - July 3, 2026).

Camp brings together a variety of people with a variety of life experiences. You may never have seen a child with a port scar before, or heard a sibling talk about the emotional weight of seeing their brother go through countless painful treatments as a child. You will gain unique insights into the world of pediatric cancer and the many ways it impacts patients and their families. It’s also common to see a lot of kindness and joy at camp — a refreshing reminder of all of the goodness that exists in our loud and chaotic world.

At the end of the day, our camps are about having fun. Away from your desk and electronics, you’ll spend time laughing and getting messy, singing camp songs, and getting to know of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. It’s not uncommon for volunteers to leave with lasting memories and friendships, just like our campers do.
