Welcome, The One Mission Day Camp Counselors!
A Note From The Director
We are so excited to have you join us at The One Mission Day Camp this summer!! I want to thank each of you in advance for dedicating your time and energy to our campers this summer. Your generosity and excitement are vital to our camp and we greatly appreciate each one of you.
On this page, you will find essential information regarding transportation to and from camp, packing guidelines, and what to expect during your time with us. Please review these materials to ensure you have plenty of time to gather all necessary supplies and address any questions you might have.
This year’s camp is going to be incredible! Our theme for the week is BOOKS, so you know there will be lots of thematic activities and opportunities for costumes! If you want to connect with your fellow counselors to discuss carpools, costume ideas, or just to get to know each other before camp, join our Day Camp WhatsApp group!
We are here to support you however you need. If you have any additional questions, concerns, or just would like to chat prior to camp, please email me at krystin.whitacre@campcasco.org anytime.
We can’t wait to see you soon!
Sincerely,
Krystin “Lo” Whitacre

Dates And Times
There is a mandatory training session on Sunday, June 28th from 10am - 4pm at Dana Hall School. This is mandatory for new and returning volunteers alike. You’ll get to see the space, meet the team, learn about our campers, get some additional training, and get the space ready for campers!
Monday June 29 - 9:00AM - 5:30PM
Tuesday June 30 - 9:00AM - 5:30PM
Wednesday July 1 - 9:00AM - 5:30PM
Thursday July 2 - 9:00AM - 5:30PM
Friday July 3 - 10:00AM - 2:30PM (this is our Family Fun Day at Hale Education)
Getting To Camp
The One Mission Day Camp is located on a small field of Dana Hall School campus (45 Dana Road, Wellesley MA).
Arrival is 9:00AM every day, and dismissal is at 5:30PM every day, with the exception of July 3rd. on July 3rd, we will be hosting a Family Fun Day at Hale Education. Volunteers are expected to be there from 10:00AM - 2:30PM.
Our activities will take place at the front of the Shipley Center. Please note that if you are driving and parking at Dana Hall, we will need to know your car make, model, color and plate # so that we can have a parking pass obtained for you. We will ask you for this information on Sunday.
Please note that parking is extremely limited, and located across campus from where we will hold camp. We encourage you to use the Whatsapp group to carpool with fellow counselors (even if it’s parking at the nearby commuter rail lot and only carpooling the last few minutes - we will reimburse parking at the Wellesley commuter rail parking lot). LINX Camps operates on the same campus, and starts earlier than we do. Because of this, parking is usually very difficult to find.
Theme Days
Theme days are a wonderful way to get into the camp spirit! This year, the theme of the week is BOOKS! Some of our counselors go all out dressing up for our theme days, and we coordinate games and crafts throughout the week to go along with our theme days. Counselors are encouraged to coordinate their outfits to fit the theme days. This could be as simple as wearing a themed t-shirt that you already have in your closet. The more excitement we show the campers, the better!
**While costumes are strongly encouraged, please note that there is no need to go out and spend money on these themes. Some of the best costumes are handmade!**
2026 The One Mission Day Camp Theme Days

Tuesday: Detective Books - The game is afoot! Grab your magnifying glass, detective hat, trench coat, or mystery-inspired costume and help us crack the case.
Wednesday: Magic School Bus - Hop aboard for a wild adventure with Ms. Frizzle! Think colorful outfits, science gear, animals, planets, and anything wonderfully wacky.
Thursday: Fairytales - Once upon a time, campers arrived dressed as princes, princesses, dragons, fairies, knights, and magical creatures. Bring your favorite storybook fantasy to life!

Important Notes
We will be providing daily snacks and lunches. While you are permitted to bring your own snacks and lunch, you will be asked to keep individual items out of sight from campers and will eat these during your allotted break time.
There is a mandatory training session on Sunday, June 28th from 10am - 4pm. Lunch and snacks will be provided, but please be sure to bring a water bottle and sun screen!
Volunteer meds will be stored in personal brown bags in a single locked cabinet in our Med Shed that all volunteers have access to. A selection of over-the-counter meds for volunteer use will be provided there as well, though we encourage you to bring your own OTC meds if you have a need for a specific brand or type of medication. If you would like more privacy/protection over your personal meds, we encourage you to bring your own small lockable container.
Use of firearms, tobacco, marijuana, alcohol, or illegal drugs is strictly forbidden. This includes while on breaks. Violators will be sent home IMMEDIATELY and suspended from attending camp in future years if any of these items are found in their possession or used.
DO NOT BRING any gum, candy, fireworks, or valuable items.
Cell Phone Policy: We have a 100% zero tolerance policy on all camper cell phones. Upon arrival at camp, all campers will check in their cell phones at our Med Shed. “Unplugging” is incredibly important to helping the campers bond and make the most of their time at Camp Casco, and we ask for your support in enforcing this rule. Because of this, we ask that you do not use your cell phones at all during camp time. You may use your cell phones only during breaks and away from view of the campers. This goes for tablets, iPods, and laptops as well.
This policy applies to all campers and all volunteers (with the exception of Camp Leadership and their designees) and will be strictly enforced.
