In The News: Camp Casco Welcomes Kids With Cancer For Week Of Fun

SUDBURY, MA — A local nonprofit will welcome childhood cancer patients and survivors to camp next week.

Camp Casco will welcome children from across the state for Oncology Camp on Monday. The week-long camp in Groton serves as a week-long vacation, free from treatments, appointments and daily health challenges, according to a news release from the organization.

Kids from ages seven to 17 can attend the camp, which has been providing programs across Massachusetts since 2014. All of the programs are aided through donor and community support, according to Camp Casco.

“At Camp Casco, our campers are surrounded by people who understand their experiences,” said Erin Fletcher Stern, co-founder and CEO of the nonprofit. “Oncology Camp is a chance for them to set aside treatments and worries, and simply be kids.”
