Hall Of Fame 2025: Team Sunshine Lollipops

Michael Goldberg from Sunshine Lollipops shares about his 2025 hike, and why he comes back as a Trail Blazer every year.

How did you hear about Trail Blazers, and how did you make the decision to sign up?

I've been fortunate to be involved with Camp Casco for several years. Trail Blazers (part of Hike for Hope) is among the many fun and rewarding programs that Camp Casco has to offer, in addition to Golf for Good and Ride for Resilience. There's something for anyone who wants to do something active, and I've really enjoyed participating in Trail Blazers each year to date.

What has been your favorite Trail Blazers hike?

That's a really tough one to answer. I've truly enjoyed all of them, from Zion National Park to the Grand Tetons. You can't go wrong with any trail — particularly if there's sunshine and good company to join you.

Where did you do your Trail Blazers hike, and who was on your team?

This year, I hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru. I was supported by lots of friends and family, particularly my high school buddies, who have contributed extremely generously.

What would you tell someone who is thinking about signing up for next year’s Trail Blazers?

Definitely go for it. It's sooooo much fun, and you're supporting an amazing cause!

What does being a Trail Blazer mean to you? How do you think this program positively impacts our campers?

It feels great to be able to support Camp Casco and our campers. More awareness generated and more funds raised enable our outstanding staff to provide fun and carefree experiences for the kids. Just come to one of our events or check out a video, and those smiles will tell you all that you need to know.

What advice would you give to next year’s Trail Blazers?

Go for it. No matter where you go, how far you hike, or how much you fundraise, it's the perfect experience — enjoyable and fulfilling. Happy trails!!
