Packing for Day Camp

Camp Casco Day Camp

Ready, set, CAMP! We are so excited for you to join us for a week at Camp Casco day camp. To help answer questions and ensure you’re prepared, our team put together this packing list to help you prepare for camp so you can have the best week ever.

*Super, super important! Please mark all items brought to camp with the camper’s first AND last name. Camp Casco will hold lost and found items for seven days after the end of camp.

It’s time to go to Day Camp! What should I wear?

All campers should arrive at camp wearing the following:

  • Shoes with a closed toe and closed heel (required)

  • A modest bathing suit under regular clothes

  • Hat/cap for sun protection

  • Insect repellent, chapstick, sunscreen

What extra supplies do I need at Day Camp?

Please pack the following items to bring to camp:

  • One complete change of dry clothes (top, bottoms, underwear, socks)

  • Flip flops (for shower and pool only)

  • Weather-appropriate jacket

  • Pool towel

  • Goggles or swim mask (optional)

  • Insect repellent, chapstick, sunscreen

How should I pack medications for camp?

Pack all medications, vitamins, and supplements, including EpiPens, in their original labeled bottles. This is required by the state of Massachusetts. Please pack all medications, supplements, vitamins, inhalers, EpiPens, etc., in a plastic bag, separate from your child’s primary backpack. This will make it easier to check in each item when campers arrive for the day.

What should I leave at home?

To keep everyone safe, happy, and healthy, the following items should stay home:

  • Do not pack outside food. Camp Casco will provide lunch and two snacks every day. We keep our camp nut-free and allergy safe for the health of all campers. Restricting outside food ensures no unsafe items find their way into camp.

  • PLEASE DO NOT PACK any money, pets, radios, gum, food, fireworks, valuable items, or electronics (including Kindles, iPods, iPads, etc.) No cell phones are allowed at camp.

  • Any weapons or firearms, tobacco, alcohol, or illegal drugs are strictly forbidden at Camp Casco. Campers will be sent home IMMEDIATELY and suspended from attending camp in future years if any of these items are found in their possession or used.

Theme Days

Each camp session has theme days to help set the tone for the week of camp. This summer’s overall theme is Disney! Each day will have its own Disney theme, and we coordinate our activities to match the theme of the day! Counselors get dressed up in wacky costumes, and the campers often like to get in on the fun! If your camper would like to dress up with the themes of each day, they are listed below. Please keep in mind that we do not expect anyone to purchase anything to come to camp in a thematic outfit! The best costumes are usually the ones that are creative and made out of scraps!

  • Monday - Heroes and Villains

  • Tuesday - Avengers (Also the 4th of July)

  • Wednesday - Pixar

  • Thursday - Under The Sea

  • Friday - Animal Kingdom

If you have questions about the packing list or general questions about Day Camp, send us a message at hello@campcasco.org. We can’t wait to see you!
