What to Pack for Overnight Camp 2023

campers having fun at the beach

Ready, set, CELEBRATE! It’s time for camp! We are so excited to welcome you and all campers to Camp Casco Overnight Camp. We’ve assembled a packing list to prepare campers for a fun week!

Please note that luggage is limited to one sleeping bag (or bedding), one suitcase, and one separate bag of medications. Make sure everything is marked with the campers’ first AND last names. Camp Casco will hold lost and found items for seven days after camp. Camp Casco is not responsible for lost or damaged personal equipment.

What to Bring to Camp:

  • One pair of closed-toe & closed-heel shoes **REQUIRED**

  • One pair of sandals (for shower and lake only)

  • Six t-shirts

  • Six pairs of shorts

  • Six pairs of socks & underwear (more if desired)

  • Two pairs of jeans or long pants

  • Rain jacket

  • Two sweaters/sweatshirts/fleece

  • Warm pajamas

  • Modest bathing suit

  • Hat/cap for sun protection

  • Pillow

  • Sleeping bag or twin-sized sheets and blankets

  • Flashlight and extra batteries

  • Pool towel

  • Bath towel

  • Personal toiletries (soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, etc.)

  • Insect repellent, chapstick, sunscreen

  • Masks for when indoors and social distancing is not possible

  • Returning campers: don't forget your 2022 ashes!

Remember, clothes for camp don’t need to be new. Camp is messy, and that’s part of the fun!

Medications

Please pack all medications, vitamins, and supplements, including EpiPens, in their original labeled bottles. This is required by the state of Massachusetts. Pack all medications, supplements, vitamins, inhalers, EpiPens, etc., in a plastic bag, separate from your child’s primary suitcase. This will make camp check-in easier.

All medications and supplements, including, but not limited to, vitamins, supplements, over-the-counter or prescription medications, must be given to the camp medical volunteer during camp check-in.

What to Leave at Home

PLEASE DO NOT PACK any money, pets, radios, gum, food, fireworks, valuable items, or electronics (including Kindles, iPods, iPads, etc.). Bringing any weapon, firearm, tobacco, alcohol, or illegal drugs to Camp Casco is strictly forbidden. Campers will be sent home IMMEDIATELY and suspended from attending camp in future years if any of these items are found in their possession or used. Cell phones may only be used on the bus to/from camp and will not be permitted during the week.

Theme Days

Each camp session has theme days to help set the tone for the week of camp. This summer’s overall theme is Disney! Each day will have its own Disney theme, and we coordinate our activities to match the theme of the day! Counselors get dressed up in wacky costumes, and the campers often like to get in on the fun! If your camper would like to dress up with the themes of each day, they are listed below. Please keep in mind that we do not expect anyone to purchase anything to come to camp in a thematic outfit! The best costumes are usually the ones that are creative and made out of scraps!

  • Monday - Hero Day

  • Tuesday - Royalty Day

  • Wednesday - Sidekick Day

  • Thursday - Villain Day

  • Friday - Animal Day

We can’t wait to see you at camp! If you have any questions about the packing list or anything else camp-related, contact us at hello@campcasco.org.
